A card set translating feminist ethics of technology into concrete questions for reflection during research and design processes.
The Feminist Cards of Tech responds to a recurring problem: ethical reflection that happens only once, at a project’s start, rarely changes anything. The toolkit instead embeds feminist ethics of technology as a repeatable practice, arriving exactly where teams already work: in research, persona-building, prototyping and feedback. Developed for interdisciplinary research and design teams, no prior knowledge of feminist theory is required: the thinking is built into the questions themselves.
Each of the 9 categories — among them Blind Spot, The Forgotten, Power Struggle, Care, The Blueprint, The Black Box, The Villain, The Catalyst, The Other World — surfaces a different dimension of exclusion, assumption or consequence, mapped to the process phase in product development where it is most relevant.
Designed for short interventions (5–10 minutes at a kickoff or review) as well as deeper reflection rounds (30–60 minutes in synthesis or retro sessions), the cards use a provocative, image-driven tone deliberately distinct from compliance language, inviting exploration rather than justification.
