A physical and digital card set translating innovation and futures methods into an accessible tool for collaborative processes between cities, administrations and citizens.
Client: Open Innovation City Bielefeld · Role: Concept, Content Development · Agency: denkwerk
Developed for the publicly funded Open Innovation City Bielefeld programme, the project translates innovation and futures methods into a physical card set for participatory processes.
The cards provide a structured framework for workshops involving city administration, institutions, local stakeholders and citizens. Complex methods are broken down into tangible steps that can be selected, combined and facilitated without requiring specialist knowledge.
The project combines methodology design, visual communication and participatory process design. Rather than designing a single workshop format, the card set functions as a reusable tool for structuring collaborative processes around urban innovation and future-making.
In this sense, the methodology itself becomes a design object: physical, accessible and adaptable to different contexts.
